blueyesw- does it say what town your mother was born in? If so you can request her birth certificate (I was surprised you could do this, but I did it) and when that comes it will give you more information on her especially her date of birth and her parents names and then it will become easier to search.

I had to go to Court in Cambridge,Mass to have my adoption records unsealed. I only got to look at the information but could not copy any of it for myself. My adopted family gave me my original certificate of birth and my baptism records, I searched but found nothing.
I have been searching for my birth family since 1990 and have been close once to finding my half brother, but no such luck since. I have a large family 4 half brothers and 1 half sister, my other sister is younger so we were adopted together.
